I feel like competitive cheerleading is more of a challenge for me and I like challenges. But on the other hand when I used to cheer for my high school team, I felt apart of my high school. I felt involved in something all my peers were involved in. Having school spirit makes going to school fun. That way its not all WORK and you get to help the school get pepped up! Everyone went to the games, but I ALWAYS had front row seats... lol on the sidelines. :)

Dont feel nervous that you're not good enough to step into an All-star gym. They like it better when you don't know how to do anything. that way they can teach you the right way. often cheerleaders are taught with wrong technique when they try to teach themselves or when they have their friends teach them. but when you go to a professional gym they teach you the right way. so the coach at the gym would rather you come knowing nothing then to come with bad habits. bad habits are HARD to break.
trust me. I know.

I thought you had to tryout to be on a team at a gym?  You can just join?

yes they have tryouts. but not to see if you make the team or not. its to see what level you're at to see which team to place you on. a level 1 team or a level 5 team. unless you go to a gym where they only have one team there (a smaller organization) then you might not make the team. but they arent going to tell you that you cant take classes or private lessons to work your way on the team.

lets say your always working hard on your tumbling in the gym and you get good and then someone gets injured. you can replace them in the middle of the year. you never know. it happens all the time.

but if you go to a gym where they have lots of level teams then you will automatically make the a team thats at your level. get it?
